The 47th Super Bowl was held in the party city of New Orleans, other wise fondly called as the Crescent City or the Big Easy. The roman numerals arrived on a barge a few days before the event and kicked off the super bowl celebrations in the city that loves this sport. Even though the local team, the New Orleans Saints had had a terrible season, the people were sportive and came out in droves to participate in the festivities. Local musicians and groups entertained all the party goers and the whole city had a festive spirit leading up to this event. The numerals were stationed at the Mississippi River waterfront and were over 30-ft tall and more than 100-ft wide. Every evening there was a light show followed by fireworks to mark the occasion. Like the saying goes, if you want to party right, party in the Big Easy!
