The Riksdag (sometimes called The Riksdagen) is the Swedish Parliament and represents the people. It is also the supreme decision-making body in the Swedish government, creating laws, defining the taxes and creating central government budgets, just to name a few. The assembly is comprised of 349 members who represent the people of Sweden. Located in Stockholm in the city center on the island of Helgeandsholmen in Gamla Stan, the Riksdag building is an amazing piece of architecture with the facade representing the Baroque revival style of architecture and the building complex designed by Aron Johansson. The lights especially at night and the extremely long summer days provide a lovely ambiance. This building is a stone's throw away from the Kungliga Slottet (the Swedish Royal Palace).
