Crabtree Falls in Yancey County, North Carolina is a beautiful cascade to visit and is accessed by a trail from the Crabtree Meadows campground/parking lot off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Nestled in the beautiful Appalachian range, this waterfall is about a 2 to 2.5 mile round trip hike. The hike downhill to the falls is about a mile and is quite rugged. The hike back to the Crabtree Meadows campground is much easier and is about 1.3 miles. Plan to visit this area either early in the morning to catch some fog with the water to make for surreal waterfall photos or if you aren't an early riser then just make sure you plan your trip on a cloudy day. On a sunny day with crystal clear skies the Sun is just too harsh to get a good photo. Perfect spot to spend a weekend with a special someone or just take the family out and have fun!
