Turks Cap (Lilium Superbum) Candelabra, Fine Art Photograph

In a good year for these beautiful flowers, you can find them growing in colonies, yes, that's the right word, along the entire stretch of the Blue Ridge Parkway. On a cloudy afternoon trying to indulge in some macro photography I spotted this candelabra like bunch of Turks Cap lilies and spent close to 2 hours trying to vary my compositions and get the lighting right. Using a prime macro lens and a diffuser I was able to get the diffused light you see in the photograph. The reason why I love this image is because the "candelabra" has one flower that's fully bloomed and the others are sort of "in waiting mode" to bloom. Gives the viewer a nice comparison of before/after scenarios in one photograph.
