The Red Lory's are beautiful, bright red colored birds that belong to the parrot species. They are mostly found in abundance in the far eastern parts of Asia, particularly the tropical forests of Indonesia. The red lory can be trained easily. This ability to train these birds can be attributed to their high levels of intelligence, which also makes them affectionate, playful and curious. They, however, do require a lot of maintenance and need to be attended to on a constant basis. The main diet for these birds consists of nectar, pollen and a variety of insects found in the wild.
