Painterly Sunrise on the Blue Ridge Parkway, Fine Art Photograph

On an unusually chilly October morning, I was out on the parkway hoping to get a good sunrise and Mother Nature did not let me down. As the Sun came up over the horizon, the huge cloud cover was breaking up just enough to present this painterly sunrise. With a long lens and watching the light from the rising Sun hit the clouds just right, I zoomed in to capture the underside of this cloud. The bright orange clouds hovering over the horizon proved to be just the perfect foreground once the Sun peeked through.
