Built in 1882, Los Morillos lighthouse served and continues to serve as a critical guidance tool for ships navigating the treacherous waters of Mona Passage before heading out either into the Atlantic Ocean or the Caribbean Sea. Constructed on lime cliffs that drop approximately about 200 feet into the ocean this beautiful lighthouse is located in the southwestern tip of the island of Puerto Rico.
On this particular day, the sunset was just amazing with the light from the setting Sun lighting up this lighthouse perfectly. This photograph is a HDR consisting of 9 images that were stacked in Photoshop to preserve the fine details in both the foreground and the sky.
